HIKROBOT MV-SC3050XM-12M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC3050XM-12M-WBN, part of the SC3000X family, is a 5.0 MP monochrome smart camera (vision sensor). Its CMOS sensor uses global shutter technology with a 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixel size and 1/1.45″ optical format, delivering 2432 × 2048 resolution at up to 40 fps. Gain ranges from 0 dB to 15 dB and exposure time from 6 µs to 1 s; pixel format is Mono 8. The M12-mount lens has a 12 mm focal length with mechanical (motorised) focus, giving a moderate field of view suited to mid-range, relatively narrow-angle inspection tasks. The lens cover is fully transparent + polarised + diffuser; besides the focused white light source, optional red/blue/infrared illumination is available.

The vision-tool set covers point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch, width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, diameter and line angle measurement, plus blob/edge/contour presence detection. The camera communicates over RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV, with a Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit/s) data interface and support for importing/exporting up to 32 programs. Connectivity runs through a 12-pin M12 connector: 3 opto-isolated inputs (LINE0/1/2), 3 opto-isolated outputs (LINE3/4/5) and 1 RS-232 line; the top button can also trigger capture. Power is 24 VDC, typical consumption 6.5 W. The body measures 80.1 × 43 × 44.3 mm (flat-angle) or 58.5 × 43 × 65.4 mm (right-angle), weighs approx. 190 g, and carries a 360° visible indicator light with IP67 protection.

Where it is used

The 12 mm focal length suits measurement/inspection stations viewed from a moderate distance where a relatively narrow field of view is sufficient. The camera can perform point-to-line measurement, edge/contour detection and similar tasks on greyscale images without needing to sit unusually close or far from the target. The standard 12-pin connector and opto-isolated I/O suit conventional PLC-based line integration; the exact mounting distance should be assessed on a per-project basis.
