HIKROBOT MV-SC3016C-06M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC3016C-06M-WBN is a 1.6-megapixel color vision sensor built around a global shutter CMOS sensor with a 1/2.9″ optical format and 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixels. At 1408 × 1024 resolution the unit reaches up to 60 fps, with gain from 0 dB to 15 dB and exposure from 16 µs to 1 s. Support for Mono 8 and RGB 8 pixel formats suits applications requiring color differentiation. Its M12-mount lens uses mechanical (motorised) focus at a 6 mm focal length — the widest-angle option in the family — positioning the camera close to the target while covering a wide area in a single frame, backed by built-in illumination for a compact, self-contained solution.

The MV-SC3016C-06M-WBN offers a vision toolset that includes point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch/width, average brightness, colour measurement/area, line-to-line angle, and diameter/angle measurement, plus blob-based presence/absence detection; up to 32 programs can be stored with import/export support. Communication runs over RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV protocols with a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet interface. A 17-pin M12 connector combines power, Ethernet, digital I/O and serial communication in one cable, providing 2 inputs (Line0/1), 3 outputs (Line5/6/7) and 3 bidirectional configurable I/O lines (Line2/3/4). Powered at 24 VDC, the unit draws an average of 13.8 W with the built-in illumination on (42 W maximum); its 14-LED integrated light source ships white by default, with red and blue options available. It has a semi-polarised lens cover (transparent or fully polarised options available) and power (PWR), network (LNK), status (STS) and result (OK/NG) indicator LEDs; the body measures 65.2×65.2×47 mm, weighs approximately 280 g, and carries IP67 protection.

With the widest field of view and shortest working distance in the family, the 6 mm focal length suits applications where the camera sits very close to the target and a wide area needs colour coverage in a single frame. The 14-LED integrated light source means a separate illumination unit isn’t needed, delivering consistent images even where ambient lighting is inconsistent. Power (PWR), network (LNK), status (STS) and result (OK/NG) indicator LEDs make it easy to monitor the camera as a self-contained inspection station directly on the line.
