HIKROBOT MV-SC3013XC-08M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC3013XC-08M-WBN is a 1.3-megapixel color vision sensor built around a global shutter CMOS sensor with a 1/1.45″ optical format and 6.9 µm × 6.9 µm pixels. Running at 1216 × 1024 resolution, it reaches frame rates of up to 60 fps, with a gain range of 0 dB – 15 dB and exposure times from 6 µs to 1 s that adapt to varying lighting conditions. Support for Mono 8 and RGB 8 pixel formats makes it suited to applications where color information matters. Its M12-mount lens uses mechanical (motorised) focus at an 8 mm focal length; this short focal length delivers a wide field of view and a short working distance, letting the camera capture large areas close up in a single frame.

The device offers a rich vision toolset covering point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch/width measurement, average brightness, line-to-line angle, colour measurement and colour area, and diameter/angle measurement, alongside blob-, edge- and contour-based presence/absence detection. Up to 32 programs can be stored, with import/export support. On the communication side it supports RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV protocols over a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet interface. A 12-pin M12 connector carries power together with opto-isolated digital I/O (3 inputs, 3 outputs) and RS-232; triggering via the top button is also supported. Powered at 24 VDC with typical consumption of 6.5 W, the unit has a fully transparent + polarised + diffuser lens cover, a focused white light source (red/blue/infrared optional), a 360° visible body indicator light and an orange LED aiming light; it measures 80.1×43×44.3 mm in the flat-angle body or 58.5×43×65.4 mm right-angle, weighs approximately 190 g, and carries IP67 protection.

Where it is used

The 8 mm focal length combined with colour imaging suits applications where the camera sits close to the target and a wide area needs to be captured in a single frame. On a production line where several parts are arranged side by side, this wide field of view lets position, colour or assembly integrity be checked across all of them at once, reducing the need for extra cameras or repositioning. Colour measurement and colour area tools help verify that labels, packaging or differently coloured components are placed correctly, and the short working distance makes it easy to integrate the camera directly into the line.
