HIKROBOT MV-SC3050XM-08M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC3050XM-08M-WBN is a 5.0-megapixel (2432×2048) monochrome vision sensor in HIKROBOT’s SC3000X series. Its CMOS global shutter sensor, with a 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixel size and 1/1.45″ optical format, delivers frame rates up to 40 fps, a 0-15 dB gain range and exposure times from 6 µs to 1 s; unlike the color models, the pixel format here is Mono 8 only. The M12-mount, mechanically (motorised) focused lens has an 8 mm focal length, giving a wide field of view and short working distance suited to close-range inspection tasks. The lens cover combines fully transparent, polarised and diffuser layers, with a standard focused white light source and optional red/blue/infrared sources.

Without the colour measurement and colour-area tools found on the color models, this monochrome unit’s vision toolset covers point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch, width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, diameter and line-angle measurements together with blob, edge and contour presence-absence checks — making it well suited to contrast- and dimension-based inspection. PLC/SCADA connectivity runs over RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV via 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet, with up to 32 programs storable. On the standard body, a 12-pin M12 connector provides 3 opto-isolated inputs (LINE0/1/2), 3 opto-isolated outputs (LINE3/4/5) and one RS-232 line, with the top button also available for triggering. Offering mounting flexibility with a flat-angle (80.1×43×44.3 mm) or right-angle (58.5×43×65.4 mm) body, this model has a 360° indicator light, weighs about 190 g and is IP67-rated; power supply is 24 VDC with typical consumption of 6.5 W.

Where it is used

This monochrome model suits inspection points based on contrast and geometric measurement where colour information isn’t needed; its short 8 mm focal length gives a wide field of view that makes it easy to capture an entire small part in one frame at close range. The flat- or right-angle body option allows different mounting orientations, while the IP67 rating gives extra resilience for harsher conditions compared with the -S family.
