HIKROBOT MV-SC3050M-12M-WBN V4 — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC3050M-12M-WBN V4 is the 5.0-megapixel mono model of the SC3000 family; its CMOS global shutter sensor carries 3.4 µm × 3.4 µm pixels and a 2/3″ optical format, reaching 2432 × 2048 resolution at up to 50 fps. Gain is adjustable from 0 to 24 dB and exposure from 60 µs to 1 s, with a Mono 8 pixel format. The lens is M12-mount with mechanical (motorised) focus and a 12.4 mm focal length, giving a narrower field of view and a longer working distance than the family’s 8 mm model — designed for applications where the camera sits somewhat further from the target and a balanced coverage-to-detail ratio is required. It comes with a semi-polarised lens cover (transparent or fully polarised options available) and a 14-LED light source, white by factory default with red, blue and near-infrared options.

The vision toolset covers point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch, width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, diameter and line angle measurements, plus blob, edge and contour presence checks, with up to 32 programs stored and importable/exportable. Mechanically and electrically, a 17-pin M12 connector combines power, Ethernet, digital I/O and serial communication: 2 inputs (Line0/1), 3 outputs (Line5/6/7), 3 bidirectional I/O (Line2/3/4) and 1 external line; typical power draw is 9.6 W at 24 VDC, up to a maximum of 48 W. Communication runs over a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet interface via RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV. PWR, LNK, STS and OK/NG indicators show live status; the IP67-rated housing operates from 0 °C to 50 °C and is CE/KC certified.

Where it is used

With a narrower angle and longer working distance than its 8 mm sibling, the 12.4 mm focal length makes this model a balanced choice for general production lines where the camera is positioned a little further back and mid-sized parts need both their overall outline and moderate detail assessed together. The 5 MP resolution and 50 fps frame rate allow fine measurement and contour checks to be performed quickly even from mid-range, and the 32-program capacity makes it easy to inspect different product types in sequence at the same station.
