The MV-CH120-60UM is the 12 MP model in the CH series USB3.0 line that runs the Stacked BSI global shutter sensor at 30.7 fps in 4096 × 3000 monochrome. USB 3.0 bandwidth lets it exceed three times the frame rate of the same sensor’s GigE versions, and its 44.2 dB SNR and 67.5 dB dynamic range are among the highest in the family. Exposure spans 45 μs to 10 s and gain 0–12 dB, and a new hardware platform uses logic resources more efficiently to bring consumption down.
Power comes from the USB 3.0 port at a typical 2.2 W at 5 VDC; USB 2.0 is supported, though the full frame rate calls for USB 3.0. External 9–24 VDC and digital I/O share the 6-pin P7 connector: Line 0 opto-isolated input, Line 1 opto-isolated output, Line 2 bi-directional non-isolated. The new body design measures 29 × 29 × 30 mm at 80 g and allows installation from four sides; CCM, Sequencer, Super Bayer and Super Palette are on board, and USB3 Vision plus GenICam compliance keeps it working with software built on those standards.

Where it is used
A 12 MP monochrome stream at 30.7 fps allows solder and component inspection (AOI) on electronic boards to run at full resolution while the line keeps moving. It fits fast, fine-detail measurements such as connector pin arrays, edge profiles of stamped metal parts and scratch scans on glass covers. It is also a natural pick for compact single-PC measurement stations connected over a short USB cable, such as lab-style test fixtures.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
