HIKROBOT MV-CH050-60UM — Area Scan Cameras
5 MP, Stacked BSI CMOS, USB3.0, Mono, 79 fps

The MV-CH050-60UM is the 5 MP monochrome model in the USB3.0 branch of the CH series that uses a Stacked BSI (back-side illuminated, stacked) global shutter CMOS sensor; the 2/3″ sensor delivers 2448 × 2048 from 3.45 μm pixels. It achieves 42.4 dB SNR and 73.9 dB dynamic range and runs at 79 fps in Mono 8. The sensor offers two gain modes: LCG with 0–13 dB gain and exposure from 30 μs, and HCG with 0–24 dB gain and exposure down to 5 μs, giving separate operating points for bright and dim scenes.
The camera both streams and draws power over its USB 3.0 interface; a typical 1.9 W at 5 VDC is among the lowest in the USB branch, and USB 2.0 backward compatibility is maintained. The 6-pin P7 connector provides an alternative 9–24 VDC supply together with an opto-isolated input (Line 0), an opto-isolated output (Line 1) and a bi-directional non-isolated I/O (Line 2); hardware trigger, software trigger and free run are supported. The newly designed 29 × 29 × 30 mm C-mount body of about 80 g can be installed from four sides; alongside USB3 Vision and GenICam compliance, it offers Sequencer, Super Palette and Super Bayer functions plus automatic or manual gain, exposure, white balance, LUT and Gamma adjustment.

Where it is used
High SNR and the dual gain modes suit detection of fine scratches and stains on low-contrast surfaces, inspection of glass or transparent materials, and microscopy stations working under dim illumination. At 79 fps it can measure moving parts, and the 1.9 W consumption with USB power makes it practical for portable inspection rigs connected to a laptop and for compact embedded systems.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
