The MV-CH120-60UM V5 is the 12 MP monochrome V5 release in the CH series USB3.0 line, pushing the 1.1-inch Stacked BSI global shutter sensor to 31.3 fps at 4096 × 3000. This release widens the gain range to 0–24 dB, shortens the minimum exposure to 20 μs and lands at a typical 2 W at 5 VDC, with 44.1 dB SNR and 67.2 dB dynamic range defining image quality. The result is a high-resolution camera that can work with very short exposures under limited light while still drawing little power.
One USB 3.0 cable carries both the 31.3 fps data stream and the 2 W supply; USB 2.0 compatibility is retained and 9–24 VDC can be applied at the P7 connector instead. Triggering uses Line 0 opto-isolated input, Line 1 opto-isolated output and Line 2 bi-directional non-isolated; gain, exposure, white balance, LUT and Gamma are set automatically or manually, and CCM, Sequencer, Super Bayer and Super Palette are supported. The 29 × 29 × 30 mm, 80 g body accepts mounting from four sides, is rated for –10 °C to 50 °C operation and IP40, and USB3 Vision with GenICam compliance enables third-party software.

Where it is used
Scratch and dent detection on bright metal and chrome surfaces, where very short exposure and higher gain are combined to suppress glare, is where the 20 μs exposure and 24 dB gain headroom make a difference. Body defects, pinholes and mold-seam checks on glass bottles and jars can run at 12 MP and 31.3 fps without holding the line. Low-contrast, light-limited jobs such as verifying code legibility and depth uniformity after laser marking are also a good match.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
