The MV-CH120-20UM is the 12 MP monochrome member of the CH series USB3.0 line built around the 1-inch OnSemi XGS12000 global shutter CMOS sensor. It delivers 28 fps at 4096 × 3072 with 3.2 μm pixels and 68 dB dynamic range, a combination aimed at tasks that need fine detail and wide tonal headroom in a single frame. Its UltraShort exposure mode, spanning 52 μs to 161 μs, lets it freeze moving parts cleanly where standard exposure would blur.
Data and power both travel over the USB 3.0 link, with a typical draw of 2.9 W at 5 VDC, so a single cable is enough for most bench and inline setups. An external 9–24 VDC supply can be fed through the 6-pin P7 connector instead, and the same connector carries one opto-isolated input (Line 0), one opto-isolated output (Line 1) and one bi-directional non-isolated line (Line 2) for hardware trigger, software trigger or free-run operation. The 29 × 29 × 30 mm housing weighs about 80 g and has mounting holes on four sides, and USB3 Vision plus GenICam compliance means third-party software built on those standards connects without custom drivers.

Where it is used
Its 12 MP monochrome output suits jobs that need a wide field and fine detail in one shot, such as dimensional checks on PCBs and connector pins or scratch and burr detection on glass and machined metal. At 28 fps it keeps up with indexed rotary tables and stop-and-go stations where the camera is triggered as each part arrives. The short exposure mode helps hold edges sharp when holes, tool tips or part outlines are inspected while still moving.
