HIKROBOT MV-SC3050M-08M-WBN V4 — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC3050M-08M-WBN V4 is a 5.0-megapixel mono smart camera from the SC3000 family. Its CMOS global shutter sensor has a 3.4 µm × 3.4 µm pixel size and a 2/3″ optical format, reaching 2432 × 2048 resolution at up to 50 fps. Gain ranges from 0 to 24 dB and exposure time from 60 µs to 1 s, with a Mono 8 pixel format. The M12-mount lens has mechanical (motorised) focus and an 8 mm focal length; this short focal length provides a wide field of view and short working distance, suiting stations where the camera is mounted close to the target and a wide area must be captured in one frame. A semi-polarised lens cover (transparent or fully polarised options available) and a 14-LED light source — white by factory default, with red, blue and near-infrared options — are standard.

A 17-pin M12 connector combines power, Ethernet, digital I/O and serial communication in one cable: 2 input signals (Line0/1), 3 output signals (Line5/6/7), 3 bidirectional configurable I/O (Line2/3/4) and 1 external line. Typical power draw is 9.6 W at 24 VDC, with a maximum of 48 W. The data interface is 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet, supporting RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV. Vision tools include point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch, width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, diameter and line angle measurement plus blob, edge and contour presence checks, with up to 32 programs stored and importable/exportable. Power (PWR), network (LNK), status (STS) and result (OK/NG) LEDs show live state; the housing is IP67-rated, operates from 0 °C to 50 °C, and is CE/KC certified.

The 8 mm focal length gives the widest field of view and shortest working distance in the SC3050M V4 family, suiting stations where the camera is fixed close to the target and the 5 MP resolution needs to be spread across a wide area to assess multiple items in one frame. Frame rates up to 50 fps combined with the adjustable 14-LED light source support imaging successive parts from short range on fast lines, while the 0-24 dB gain range preserves contrast even in low light.
