HIKROBOT MV-SC3050M-16M-WBN V4 — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The longest-focal-length mono model in the SC3000 family, the MV-SC3050M-16M-WBN V4 offers 5.0-megapixel resolution. Its CMOS global shutter sensor has 3.4 µm × 3.4 µm pixels and a 2/3″ optical format, reaching 2432 × 2048 resolution at up to 50 fps; gain is 0-24 dB, exposure 60 µs to 1 s, and the pixel format is Mono 8. The M12-mount lens with mechanical (motorised) focus has a 16 mm focal length — the longest in the family — which narrows the field of view and extends the working distance, so the camera can be mounted noticeably further from the target while examining fine detail within a small area at high resolution. It ships with a semi-polarised lens cover (transparent/fully polarised options available) and a 14-LED light source, white by factory default with red, blue and near-infrared options.

Power draw is a typical 9.6 W at 24 VDC, up to a maximum of 48 W; a 17-pin M12 connector gathers power, Ethernet, digital I/O and serial communication onto a single line (2 inputs Line0/1, 3 outputs Line5/6/7, 3 bidirectional I/O Line2/3/4, 1 external line). PWR, LNK, STS and OK/NG indicator LEDs reflect live status; the housing is IP67-rated, operates from 0 °C to 50 °C, and is CE/KC certified. The data interface is 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet, supporting RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV. Vision tools include point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch, width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, diameter and line angle measurements, blob/edge/contour presence checks, and storage for up to 32 programs.

Where it is used

The 16 mm focal length gives the SC3050M V4 family’s narrowest field of view and longest working distance, making it stand out at stations where the camera must be fixed at a safe or otherwise restricted distance from the line while still needing to resolve fine edges, contours or diameter measurements within a small region at 5 MP resolution. Rather than covering a wide scene like its shorter-focal siblings, it zooms into a specific, limited area — an advantage on lines that require the camera to be positioned remotely.
