HIKROBOT MV-SC3016M-12M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

Sitting at the mid focal length in the mono family, the MV-SC3016M-12M-WBN carries the same 1.6 MP global-shutter CMOS sensor: 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixel size, 1/2.9″ optical format, 1408 × 1024 resolution and up to 60 fps. Gain covers 0-15 dB, exposure 16 µs to 1 s, with Mono 8 pixel format support. The M12-mount lens performs mechanical (motorised) focus at 12.4 mm — a middle ground between the family’s 6 mm wide-angle and 15 mm narrow-angle models, balancing field of view against working distance.

Starting with electrical and communication specs: the camera runs on 24 VDC, drawing 13.8 W average / 42 W peak, with a single 17-pin M12 connector combining power, Ethernet, digital I/O and serial lines. RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV protocols run over a Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit/s) interface. On the vision side, measurement tools (point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch, width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, diameter, line angle) and presence/absence detection are available, with up to 32 stored programs and import/export support. The light source is a 14-LED array covering white/red/blue plus near-infrared; a semi-polarised lens cover, PWR/LNK/STS/OK-NG indicators, a 65.2 × 65.2 × 47 mm body at about 280 g, and IP67 protection round out the specification.

At 12.4 mm, this model sits neither at the widest nor the narrowest end of the mono family’s field of view, instead offering a balanced viewing cone at typical line-mounting distances. That makes it a fit for general-purpose, contrast- and geometry-based measurement or presence/absence checks where colour information isn’t needed and the camera sits at a standard distance from the target; the near-infrared lighting option adds flexibility for varied material contrasts.
