HIKROBOT MV-SC3050XC-12M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC3050XC-12M-WBN is a 5.0-megapixel (2432×2048) color vision sensor in HIKROBOT’s SC3000X series. Its global shutter CMOS sensor offers a 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixel size and a 1/1.45″ optical format, with frame rates up to 40 fps, a gain range of 0-15 dB and exposure times from 6 µs to 1 s; pixel format supports Mono 8 and RGB 8. The M12-mount lens has mechanical (motorised) focus, and on this model the focal length is 12 mm, giving a narrower field of view than the shorter-focal-length variants for more detailed imaging of mid-range targets. The lens cover combines fully transparent, polarised and diffuser layers, with a standard focused white light source and optional red/blue/infrared options.

Communication on this standard SC3000X body runs through a 12-pin M12 connector: 3 opto-isolated inputs (LINE0/1/2), 3 opto-isolated outputs (LINE3/4/5) and one RS-232 line, with triggering also available via the top-mounted button; on the PLC/SCADA side, RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV are supported over 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet, with up to 32 programs storable and importable/exportable. Vision tools include point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch, width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, colour measurement, colour area, diameter and line-angle measurements, plus blob/edge/contour presence-absence checks. Unlike the -S family, this standard model offers mounting flexibility with a flat-angle (80.1×43×44.3 mm) or right-angle (58.5×43×65.4 mm) body, a 360° visible indicator light, weighs about 190 g, and is rated IP67 — a step above the -S models’ IP65; power supply is 24 VDC with typical consumption of 6.5 W.

Where it is used

With a 12 mm focal length giving a narrower field of view and more detailed imaging at mid-range distances than the 8 mm variants, this model suits inspection of medium-sized parts that need to be viewed from a set distance along the line. The choice of flat-angle or right-angle body lets the camera be mounted in different orientations on stations with tight equipment layouts, while the IP67 rating provides extra resilience over the -S family’s IP65 in wash-down or dusty/humid environments.
