HIKROBOT MV-SC3050XC-08M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC3050XC-08M-WBN is the color model of the SC3000X family, offering 5.0-megapixel resolution. Its CMOS global shutter sensor has a 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixel size and a 1/1.45″ optical format, reaching 2432 × 2048 resolution at up to 40 fps. Gain ranges from 0 to 15 dB and exposure from 6 µs to 1 s; the pixel format supports both Mono 8 and RGB 8, allowing both greyscale and color-based evaluation. The M12-mount lens with mechanical (motorised) focus has an 8 mm focal length, giving a wide field of view and short working distance. A fully transparent + polarised + diffuser lens cover and a focused white light source (with optional red/blue/infrared) come as standard.

A 12-pin M12 connector combines power and I/O in one cable: 3 opto-isolated inputs (LINE0/1/2), 3 opto-isolated outputs (LINE3/4/5) and 1 RS-232 line, with top-button triggering also supported; typical power draw is 6.5 W at 24 VDC. The data interface is 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet, supporting RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV. The vision toolset includes point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch, width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, colour measurement, colour area, diameter and line angle measurements, plus blob presence checks — the colour measurement and colour area tools set this model apart from the family’s mono members. Up to 32 programs can be stored and imported/exported; the housing is IP67-rated, operates from 0 °C to 50 °C, and is CE/KC certified.

Thanks to its RGB 8 pixel format and colour measurement/colour area tools, this model stands out for inspection steps where colour information is the distinguishing factor — part colour, label colour or colour-coded markings. Its short 8 mm focal length lets it be mounted close to the target, capturing a wide area in a single frame. The 2432 × 2048 resolution allows both the overall scene and fine detail to be assessed together within a colour image, while the 0-15 dB gain range adapts to varying lighting conditions.
