HIKROBOT MV-SC3050XM-16M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

Within the 5.0 MP monochrome SC3000X family, the MV-SC3050XM-16M-WBN uses a 16 mm M12 lens that gives a narrower field of view and longer working distance than its 12 mm sibling, while keeping mechanical motorised focus. The sensor side is unchanged: global shutter CMOS, 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixels, 1/1.45″ optical format, 2432 × 2048 resolution, up to 40 fps, 0 dB – 15 dB gain, 6 µs – 1 s exposure, Mono 8 pixel format. The lens cover is fully transparent + polarised + diffuser; optional red/blue/infrared illumination supplements the focused white light source. The longer focal length suits stations where clearance must be kept between camera and target, or where smaller details need to be magnified.

On the communication side, the camera supports RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV, backed by a Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit/s) interface and import/export capacity for up to 32 programs. The vision toolset includes point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch, width, average brightness, line angle, diameter measurement and blob/edge/contour presence detection. Electrically, power is 24 VDC at a typical 6.5 W; connectivity uses the same 12-pin M12 connector as the standard family — 3 opto-isolated inputs (LINE0/1/2), 3 opto-isolated outputs (LINE3/4/5), 1 RS-232 line, plus top-button triggering. The body is 80.1 × 43 × 44.3 mm flat-angle / 58.5 × 43 × 65.4 mm right-angle, weighs approx. 190 g, with IP67 protection and a 360° indicator.

Where it is used

The 16 mm focal length suits stations where the camera must be kept at a certain distance from the target, or where a narrower field magnifies smaller details, offering a tighter view than the 12 mm model. The standard 12-pin connector and opto-isolated I/O integrate the same way into existing PLC-based lines. It can be considered for project-specific cases where physical access, heat or vibration requires clearance between camera and target.
