HIKROBOT MV-SC3030XC-16M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

MV-SC3030XC-16M-WBN, the colour 3.0MP model in HIKROBOT’s SC3000X series, produces 2048 × 1536 images from a global-shutter CMOS sensor with 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixels and a 1/1.8″ optical format. It runs at up to 40 fps with 0–15 dB gain and 6 µs–1 s exposure. Carrying the longest focal length in this sub-family, its 16 mm motorised lens trades a narrow field of view for a long working distance, letting the camera resolve small detail while mounted well away from the target. Supporting Mono8 and RGB8 pixel formats, it is CE/KC certified and rated for 0 °C–50 °C operation.

MV-SC3030XC-16M-WBN ships with a focused white light source as standard, with optional red, blue or infrared variants for different surfaces and materials. A fully transparent, polarised and diffuser lens cover option helps reduce reflection and glare. The camera draws a typical 6.5 W at 24 VDC, weighs approximately 190 g, and measures 80.1 × 43 × 44.3 mm in the flat-angle body or 58.5 × 43 × 65.4 mm in the right-angle body, with an IP67 rating. On the I/O side, a 12-pin M12 connector provides 3 opto-isolated inputs, 3 opto-isolated outputs and 1 RS-232 line. It supports RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV protocols along with 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet. Vision tools include point-to-point/point-to-line measurement, contrast measurement, greyscale area, pitch and width measurement, colour measurement, diameter measurement, line angle and blob presence checking, with storage for up to 32 programs.

Where it is used

The 16 mm focal length gives MV-SC3030XC-16M-WBN a long working distance at the cost of a narrow field of view, suiting stations where the camera cannot be brought close to the line — for example mounted behind a protective barrier or at height. The colour sensor and tools such as diameter measurement, line angle and colour measurement let small details be verified from a distance. Broad protocol support, including MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV, eases integration with lines already running different-brand PLCs without extra hardware.
