HIKROBOT MV-SC3030XM-08M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC3030XM-08M-WBN is a 3.0-megapixel mono smart camera (vision sensor) from the SC3000X family. Its CMOS global shutter sensor has a 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixel size and a 1/1.8″ optical format, reaching 2048 × 1536 resolution at up to 40 fps. Gain is adjustable from 0 to 15 dB and exposure time from 6 µs to 1 s, with a Mono 8 pixel format. The M12-mount lens has mechanical (motorised) focus and an 8 mm focal length; this short focal length delivers a wide field of view and a short working distance, letting the camera capture a large area in a single frame when mounted close to the target. A fully transparent + polarised + diffuser lens cover and a focused white light source (with optional red/blue/infrared) are standard.

The unit provides measurement tools — point-to-point, point-to-line, contrast, greyscale area, pitch, width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, diameter, and line angle measurement — alongside presence/absence tools such as blob, edge and contour presence; programs can be imported/exported and up to 32 can be stored on the device. On the communication side it supports RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV over a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet interface. A 12-pin M12 connector combines power and I/O in a single cable: 3 opto-isolated inputs (LINE0/1/2), 3 opto-isolated outputs (LINE3/4/5) and 1 RS-232 line, with triggering also available via the top button. Typical power draw is 6.5 W at 24 VDC; the IP67-rated housing operates from 0 °C to 50 °C and carries CE and KC certification.

Where it is used

The short 8 mm focal length suits stations where the camera is mounted close to the target and a wide field of view must be captured in a single frame — for example assembly lines where an entire large part, or several small items at once, need to be seen from short range. The mono sensor and global shutter design let contrast, edge and blob-based measurement/presence checks run blur-free at high frame rate on moving parts, while the 32-program capacity allows quick switching between different product variants.
