Compared with its 8 mm sibling, the longer 12 mm focal length translates, by basic optics, into a narrower field of view and a longer working distance. According to HIKROBOT’s official product page, the model runs on an embedded hardware platform with high-speed image processing capability; detailed electro-optical figures such as sensor type, pixel size and gain/exposure are not published in that source and are therefore not given here.
Looking first at its vision capabilities, the camera carries built-in high-precision algorithms for counting, defect detection, presence/absence checks and positioning. Multi-protocol communication support covers RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, Modbus, PROFINET and EtherNet/IP, complemented by a rich digital I/O interface. Mechanically, it features a rotatable cable outlet suited to tight mounting spaces and a 360-degree visible indicator viewable from any angle. Where it is used
The 12 mm focal length gives a narrower field of view and a longer working distance than the family’s 8 mm model, making it a fit for counting, defect-detection or positioning applications where the camera needs to sit a bit further from the target or resolve smaller details in the scene. The 360-degree indicator keeps status visible even at more remote or recessed mounting points.
