Its short 8 mm focal length gives a wide field of view and short working distance, making it a good fit for stations where the camera sits close to the line and a broad area must be captured in one frame. The monochrome sensor favours precision in contrast-, edge- and shape-based measurements. CE and KC certified, the unit shares the SC3000X family’s embedded hardware platform, completing capture-to-decision processing entirely on board.
With a rich digital I/O interface and support for multiple communication protocols — RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, Modbus, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP — the MV-SC3020XM-08M-WBN talks directly to line controllers and PLCs alike. Its embedded hardware platform runs the high-precision algorithms needed for counting, defect detection, presence/absence checking and positioning right on the camera, with no external computer required. A rotatable cable outlet suited to tight mounting spaces and a 360° status indicator visible from every angle make field maintenance easier. Multi-layer optical lighting with polarised, diffuser and fully transparent options keeps images consistent across different surfaces, and an IP67 rating protects the unit from dust and water.

Where it is used
The short 8 mm focal length suits stations where the MV-SC3020XM-08M-WBN can be mounted close to the line and a wide area needs to fit in a single frame; its wide field of view captures large parts or several objects at once. The monochrome sensor adds precision for contrast-, edge- and shape-based inspection independent of colour information. It fits stations with limited mounting distance, or presence/absence and position checks on large-surface parts.
