HIKROBOT MV-SC3013XC-12M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

This 1.3-megapixel color vision sensor (MV-SC3013XC-12M-WBN) is built on a global shutter CMOS sensor with a 1/1.45″ optical format and 6.9 µm × 6.9 µm pixels. At 1216 × 1024 resolution it reaches up to 60 fps, with gain adjustable from 0 dB to 15 dB and exposure from 6 µs to 1 s; Mono 8 and RGB 8 pixel formats add flexibility for color-based inspection. The lens has an M12 thread with mechanical/motorised focus fixed at 12 mm. Compared with the 8 mm variant, this mid-length focal distance narrows the field of view and extends the working distance, capturing more detail on the target — a balanced middle ground between wide- and narrow-angle coverage.

The MV-SC3013XC-12M-WBN is powered at 24 VDC with typical consumption of 6.5 W. A 12-pin M12 connector carries power along with 3 opto-isolated inputs, 3 opto-isolated outputs and RS-232; the top button can also trigger the unit. Communication protocols include RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV, over a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet data interface. Fitted with a fully transparent + polarised + diffuser lens cover, a focused white light source (red/blue/infrared optional), a 360° body indicator light and an orange LED aiming light, the unit measures 80.1×43×44.3 mm (flat-angle) or 58.5×43×65.4 mm (right-angle), weighs about 190 g and is IP67-rated. On the vision side it provides point-to-point/point-to-line measurement, contrast, greyscale area, pitch/width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, colour measurement/area, diameter and angle measurement, plus blob/edge/contour presence detection; up to 32 programs can be stored, with import/export support.

Where it is used

With a narrower field of view and longer working distance than the 8 mm variant, the 12 mm focal length suits setups where the camera must sit a bit further back from the line while still resolving mid-scale detail on a single part. Colour imaging helps distinguish colour-coded markings or components, and the narrower angle keeps neighbouring parts out of frame. This balance suits a single inspection station that needs both mounting flexibility and sufficient detail resolution.
