HIKROBOT MV-SC3013XM-08M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The MV-SC3013XM-08M-WBN is a 1.3-megapixel monochrome vision sensor using a global shutter CMOS sensor with a 1/1.45″ optical format and 6.9 µm × 6.9 µm pixels. It reaches up to 60 fps at 1216 × 1024 resolution, with a 0 dB – 15 dB gain range and 6 µs – 1 s exposure preserving image quality across lighting conditions. Its Mono 8 pixel format delivers high precision for measurement and inspection tasks based on contrast, edges, and texture. The M12-mount lens uses mechanical (motorised) focus at an 8 mm focal length; this short focus gives a wide field of view and short working distance, letting large surfaces close to the camera be scanned in a single frame.

The MV-SC3013XM-08M-WBN provides contrast, greyscale area, point-to-point/point-to-line measurement, pitch/width, average brightness, line-to-line angle, and diameter/angle measurement, along with blob-, edge- and contour-based presence/absence detection; program memory holds up to 32 entries with import/export support. RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV protocols are available over a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet data interface. A 12-pin M12 connector supplies 3 opto-isolated inputs, 3 opto-isolated outputs and RS-232; top-button triggering is also supported. Running at 24 VDC with typical 6.5 W consumption, the unit has a fully transparent + polarised + diffuser lens cover, a white light source (red/blue/infrared optional), a 360° body indicator light and an orange LED aiming light; dimensions are 80.1×43×44.3 mm flat-angle or 58.5×43×65.4 mm right-angle, weight ~190 g, protection IP67.

Where it is used

The 8 mm focal length and monochrome imaging suit applications where the camera sits close to the target and a wide surface needs to be scanned in a single frame using contrast and edge information. At a station where colour is not important but several components’ presence or position must be checked simultaneously, the wide field of view is an advantage, and the short working distance makes the camera easy to fit into compact lines. Contour- and edge-based detection tools can quickly confirm part shape or arrangement integrity.
