HIKROBOT MV-CS050-90GC — Area Scan Cameras
5 MP, GMAX3405, GigE, Color, 24.2 fps

The color member of the GMAX3405-based GigE pair, the MV-CS050-90GC runs its 2/3-inch global shutter CMOS in Bayer GB 8 at 2448 × 2048 and 24.2 fps, with a 3.4 μm pixel pitch. YUV422, RGB 8 and BGR 8 are also offered through on-camera conversion, and the 39.4 dB SNR, 66 dB dynamic range and 0–24 dB gain range are shared with its monochrome sibling. Having a 2 μs–4 μs UltraShort exposure mode in a color camera makes it possible to capture color information together with very short light pulses.
The Gigabit Ethernet interface (Fast Ethernet compatible) supports 100 m without a relay and powers the camera over the network via PoE; typical consumption is 2.3 W at 12 VDC, and 9–24 VDC external supply is also possible through the P7 connector. White balance, gain, exposure, contrast and Gamma can be set automatically or manually, while the opto-isolated input (Line 0), opto-isolated output (Line 1) and bi-directional Line 2 take care of triggering and synchronisation. The roughly 100 g, 29 × 29 × 42 mm C-mount body mounts from four sides and works with software built on GigE Vision V2.0 and GenICam.

Where it is used
Color imaging with microsecond exposure suits fast liquid processes such as inkjet printing and spray coating, where color and droplet shape are observed at the same time. Reading colored marks and codes on rotating drums, classifying fast-passing colored parts on a belt, and surface color checks performed under a short flash are further uses. 100 m over Ethernet and PoE make it easy to position this camera in multi-camera installations connected to a central server in large plants.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
