The MV-CS004-10UC V5 is the V5 release of the IMX287-based 0.4 MP colour USB3.0 camera and posts the highest frame rate on this sheet: 530 fps at 720 × 540 in Bayer RG 8. Its 39.7 dB SNR and 68.0 dB dynamic range match the earlier colour release; the difference shows in consumption, a typical 1.7 W at 5 VDC against the earlier 2.6 W. Within the small-resolution USB group of the CS series it is the first pick when speed, colour and low power are wanted together.
Power and data both run over USB3.0; the 1.7 W draw preserves power margin on laptop- or embedded-processor-based systems, with 9–24 VDC via the P7 connector as an alternative. Output formats cover Bayer RG 8/10/12, YUV422 and RGB 8 / BGR 8, while monochrome output on this release is limited to Mono 8. The opto-isolated Line 0 input and Line 1 output plus the bi-directional Line 2 handle trigger and strobe control; the 29 × 29 × 30 mm body, USB3.0 Vision / GenICam compliance and –30 °C to 60 °C operating range are retained.

Where it is used
Colour imaging at 530 fps enables colour-based tracking of spinning or tumbling objects, for instance cap/colour matching on fast filling machines or sequence checks on multi-colour wire harnesses. The low power need makes it a natural choice for mobile or autonomous systems driven by an embedded vision board. It also serves as a high-speed colour recorder in laboratory settings.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
