HIKROBOT MV-CS050-10UM V5 — Area Scan Cameras

Monochrome V5 member of the CS series’ 5 MP USB3.0 line, the MV-CS050-10UM V5 pairs the Sony IMX264 global-shutter sensor (2/3″, 3.45 μm pixels) with a faster readout of 74 fps at 2448 × 2048 in Mono 8. Image quality figures are 39.9 dB SNR and 71.4 dB dynamic range, with gain adjustable from 0 to 24 dB. The V5 platform’s new design cuts typical draw to 1.8 W while retaining Sequencer and Super Palette support.
The camera runs entirely from USB3.0 bus power (1.8 W typ. at 5 VDC) and remains usable on USB2.0 hosts; an external 9–24 VDC supply can alternatively be fed through the 6-pin P7 connector. That connector also provides the trigger I/O: opto-isolated input on Line 0, opto-isolated output on Line 1, and a non-isolated bi-directional Line 2, with hardware trigger, software trigger and anyway mode available. Gain, exposure time, white balance, LUT and Gamma can be set automatically or manually; the 29 × 29 × 30 mm housing weighs roughly 80 g and takes C-mount lenses, and compliance with USB3 Vision and GenICam ensures compatibility with standards-based software.

Where it is used
At 74 fps with 5 MP mono resolution, the camera is well matched to high-throughput inspection where geometry rather than color matters: dimensional checks on machined parts, PCB and electronics assembly verification, and reading codes or characters on rapidly indexed products. The 1 μs UltraShort exposure floor and the wide –30 °C to 60 °C operating range extend it to fast, harsh production environments.
