The color member of the Stacked BSI sensor family, the MV-CS032-60GC, delivers 2048 × 1536 resolution at 38.6 fps in Bayer GR 8. Global shutter, the 1/1.8-inch sensor area and 3.45 μm × 3.45 μm pixels apply to this model as well; its 42.4 dB SNR and 73.9 dB dynamic range help the color channels remain readable in shadows and highlights at the same time. Within the small and medium resolution family of the CS series it is the GigE option that combines 3.2 MP color imaging with exposures down to 5 μs.
For color quality, white balance is adjustable automatically or manually, and the CCM, Super Palette and Super Bayer ISP functions run inside the camera. Output can be taken as raw Bayer GR 8/10/10Packed/12/12Packed or in processed formats such as YUV422Packed, YUV422_YUYV_Packed, RGB 8 and BGR 8, with Mono 8/10/12 also available. The 1000 Mbit/s GigE interface is PoE-capable and suited to 100 meters of relay-free transmission; external supply is 9 VDC to 24 VDC with a typical 2.3 W at 12 VDC. Line 0 / Line 1 / Line 2 on the P7 connector, the sequencer, four-sided mounting holes and GigE Vision V2.0 / GenICam compliance complete the picture.

Where it is used
When wide dynamic range meets color, color decisions become possible in scenes with difficult contrast: checking colored labels printed on shiny foil, verifying color codes on dark-background packaging, assessing color and brightness uniformity of LED panels and indicator displays, and detecting tone deviation on painted and coated surfaces. Thanks to 5 μs exposures these tasks can be carried out on product in motion, and 38.6 fps covers mid-speed sorting and inspection lines.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
