The MV-CS023-10UM is the 2.3 MP monochrome model on the USB3.0 side of the CS series, running the global-shutter Sony IMX249 at 41 fps in 1920 × 1200. The 1/1.2-inch sensor with 5.86 μm × 5.86 μm pixels is specified at 40 dB SNR and 70 dB dynamic range in this USB version. Its defining trait is the 78 g body only 30 mm deep that draws both data and power from a single USB cable, so bench setups and single-camera cells need no network infrastructure at all.
The USB 3.0 interface also operates on USB 2.0; the camera can be bus-powered with a typical draw of 1.5 W at 5 VDC, or fed externally from 9 VDC to 24 VDC if required. The opto-isolated input (Line 0), opto-isolated output (Line 1) and bi-directional line (Line 2) on the P7 connector support hardware and software triggering, and the sequencer function allows parameters such as exposure and gain to be stepped through between triggers. At 29 mm × 29 mm × 30 mm with a C-mount it fits into tight spaces, and USB3 Vision / GenICam compliance secures communication with standard software layers.

Where it is used
Its bus-powered design steers this camera toward laboratory benches, portable measurement rigs and single-station inspection cells, wherever plugging a cable straight into the PC is enough. With 2.3 MP monochrome imaging it can verify connector pin presence in embedded assemblies, measure dimensions of small mechanical parts, and record documents or samples in microscope or macro setups. The sequencer support is useful in surface inspection that requires consecutive captures of the same part at different exposures.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
