The MV-CS023-10GM is a 2.3 MP monochrome GigE area-scan camera with a global-shutter CMOS sensor, sitting in the small and medium resolution family of the CS series. It is built around the 1/1.2-inch Sony IMX249, whose large 5.86 μm × 5.86 μm pixels are the main reason behind its 44.9 dB SNR and 72.6 dB dynamic range. Delivering 41 fps at 1920 × 1200, it strikes a balance between light sensitivity and throughput on mid-speed lines where illumination is limited.
On the network side the camera runs over Gigabit Ethernet and remains compatible with Fast Ethernet; with PoE support a single cable can carry both data and power, while the 9 VDC to 24 VDC input (typ. 2.2 W at 12 VDC) is available where a separate supply is preferred. The 6-pin P7 connector combines power with one opto-isolated input (Line 0), one opto-isolated output (Line 1) and one bi-directional non-isolated line (Line 2), and the camera supports hardware trigger, software trigger and free-run operation. The 29 mm × 29 mm × 42 mm body has mounting holes on four sides, and GigE Vision V2.0 / GenICam compliance keeps it open to third-party software built on those standards.

Where it is used
The pairing of large pixels with 1920 × 1200 resolution suits tasks that need reliable contrast under limited lighting: fill-level and cap-presence checks on packaging lines, missing-item inspection in blisters and cartons, and monochrome OCR/OCV of lot numbers and expiry dates. At 41 fps it leaves comfortable margin for triggered capture on mid-speed lines, and exposure times down to 15 μs help limit motion blur on moving parts.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
