HIKROBOT MV-CS020-60GM V5 — Area Scan Cameras

The MV-CS020-60GM V5 is the V5 version of the 2 MP monochrome class in the GigE branch of the CS series; its Stacked BSI global shutter CMOS sensor delivers 60.3 fps at 1624 × 1240. At 44.3 dB it has the highest SNR in this group, and together with 67.5 dB dynamic range that means less noise in low light. Typical consumption of only 1.4 W at 12 VDC and a weight of about 98 g make it draw less power and run cooler than earlier GigE models in the same housing size.
Over its GigE interface the camera sends data up to 100 metres without a repeater, is compatible with Fast Ethernet and can be powered via PoE; a 9–24 VDC external supply is supported as well. The 3.45 μm × 3.45 μm pixels and 23 μs to 10 s exposure range come with automatic or manual control of gain, exposure, LUT and Gamma. On the I/O side the P7 connector offers an opto-isolated input, an opto-isolated output and the bi-directional Line 2; the 29 × 29 × 42 mm housing has mounting holes on four faces. GigE Vision V2.0 and GenICam compliance allows migration without changing the existing software stack.

Where it is used
The combination of low power draw and high SNR pays off on lines with many cameras and a tight PoE budget, such as multi-station assembly or chained measurement cells. Two-megapixel mono imaging is adequate for detail-oriented checks like connector pin presence, screw and pin counting and laser-marking legibility. Short exposure and the global shutter make it suitable for distortion-free frames of rotating or vibrating parts.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
