240.4 frames per second is what sets the MV-CS013-80UM apart within the 1.3 MP class of the CS series. This second-generation monochrome USB3.0 camera uses a 1/2.7-inch global shutter CMOS sensor with 1280 × 1024 pixels at a 4.0 μm pitch. Gain spans 0–20 dB and exposure runs from 30 μs to 1 s; 38 dB SNR and 57 dB dynamic range keep greyscale output consistent even at top speed.
Data and power both travel over the USB3.0 link (typically 1.3 W at 5 VDC); if an external supply is preferred, the 6-pin P7 connector accepts 9–24 VDC and exposes the I/O lines (opto-isolated input Line 0, opto-isolated output Line 1, bi-directional Line 2). The camera falls back to USB2.0 hosts when needed. Custom ROI and horizontal/vertical image reverse let it adapt to mirrored or inverted mounting without host-side processing; the 29 × 29 × 30 mm, roughly 80 g body takes C-mount lenses and speaks USB3 Vision and GenICam to third-party software.

Where it is used
The high frame rate suits short-cycle tasks on fast lines, such as part presence, position and orientation checks; narrowing the ROI transmits only the region of interest and shortens trigger-to-result time further. Single-cable USB installation simplifies lab benches and machine-embedded setups such as vibration studies or tracking of fast-moving objects. Monochrome output is the natural choice for contrast-driven jobs like barcode and DataMatrix reading or edge detection.
