TELEMECANIQUE XXS18P1AM12 — Diffuse Ultrasonic Sensors

Telemecanique XXS18P1AM12 is a diffuse ultrasonic sensor from the XXS series of the XX range, with a straight cylindrical M18 body. Nominal sensing distance is 1 m, sensing range 0.105–1 m and blind zone 105 mm. It works at a 200 kHz transmission frequency with 0.1 % repeat accuracy and tolerates a ±10° object deviation from 90°. It has a 4–20 mA analog output, runs on a 12–24 V DC rated supply (10–30 V DC limits) and draws 30 mA. Without synchronisation or multiplexing, sensors must be at least 50 cm apart.

Near and far limits are taught with a pushbutton on the white wire, the XXZPB100 remote teach pushbutton or the configurator software. The current output drives loads up to 250 Ω at 12 V DC and up to 850 Ω at 24 V DC; the output is overload and short-circuit protected. Joining the grey pin 5 wires synchronises up to 8 sensors side by side. The enclosure is PBT with an epoxy resin and rubber front face; dimensions are 18 × 18 × 64 mm, weight 0.033 kg. Protection is IP65 and IP67; operating temperature is -25 – +70 °C.
