The Omron G9SR family consists of compact safety relay modules that operate standalone or as a system with input and output extension. There are 3 modules: the G9SR-BC201-RC basic unit with 2 P-channel MOS FET solid-state safety outputs, the G9SR-AD201-RC advanced unit with 2 relay contact outputs, and the G9SR-EX031-T90-RC expansion unit with 3 contacts and ON/OFF delay up to 90 s. All modules are set up with DIP switches on the front and provide clear diagnosis via LEDs. The series can be used in applications up to EN ISO 13849-1 PL e / Category 4 and EN 61508 SIL 3.
The supply is 24 V DC ±20%. The basic unit’s solid-state outputs deliver up to 2 A DC load current when 2 outputs are used; the relay contacts of the advanced and expansion units are rated 250 V AC 5 A AC15, with an electrical durability of 100,000 cycles min. and a mechanical durability of 10,000,000 cycles min. The auxiliary output is a PNP transistor (500 mA max.). The system supports automatic or manual restart, external device monitoring (EDM) and input and output loop chains. The expansion unit’s delay is set in 16 steps from 0 to 90 s. The operating temperature is −10 to 55 °C.
