AFE-R750 and MIC-732-AO are Advantech’s NVIDIA Jetson based computers for autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and robot applications. AFE-R750 is the AMR control system in Advantech’s “AFE-AMR & Robot Solutions” category: it carries dedicated interfaces for the motor drives, battery management, safety sensors and cameras on the robot. MIC-732-AO, in the “AI Computer Systems” category, is a fanless AI inference system based on the NVIDIA Isaac Nova Orin reference architecture, designed for multi-camera perception workloads. Both run from the robot’s battery voltage, work with ROS 2 and take GMSL cameras through FAKRA connectors. FST presents this grouping as “robotics” in the NVIDIA AI PC category; each model page has the full datasheet-based specification table, part numbers and accessories.
Common platform: Jetson Orin, GMSL cameras, CAN and ROS 2
Both systems are built on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin family: AFE-R750 ships with Orin NX 16 GB (100 sparse INT8 TOPS) or AGX Orin 32 / 64 GB (200 / 275 TOPS) depending on the part number, MIC-732-AO with AGX Orin 64 GB (275 TOPS). Cameras connect over GMSL to FAKRA connectors (the optional 4 / 8-port AFE-RM04 board on AFE-R750, the optional 8-port MIC-FG-8G2C1 capture card on MIC-732-AO); CAN, RS-232/422/485 and USB 3.2 ports serve drives and sensors. AFE-R750 is ROS 2 ready with Ubuntu 22.04 + JetPack 6.1 and Advantech Robotic Suite, MIC-732-AO with the JetPack 6.0+ BSP and NVIDIA Isaac ROS. Wide DC input (AFE-R750 20 – 28 VDC, MIC-732-AO 9 – 36 VDC), AT/ATX power mode and 3 Grms vibration resistance are for on-robot use.
Which model for which job
AFE-R750 (177 × 174 × 60 / 80 mm): as the main controller of the AMR — four Intel I226 Ethernet ports (GbE / 2.5GbE), two COM, isolated CAN FD (1 / 2 channels) and isolated 8 / 16-bit DIO take motor-drive, BMS, emergency-stop and bumper signals directly; the on-board Bosch BMI088 6-axis IMU, the optional Xsens MTi-3 AHRS and GPS PPS time sync are for sensor fusion; it holds the IEC 61000-6-4 heavy-industry EMC certificate; barebone versions let you source the module separately. MIC-732-AO (192 × 203 × 90 mm): as a perception-oriented AI inference computer — 10GbE + 2.5GbE networking, 8-ch GMSL 3.0 / 2.0, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two CAN for an Isaac Nova Orin style multi-sensor perception stack; Mini PCIe + M.2 slots and two nano SIMs add Wi-Fi 6 / 4G / 5G, the iDoor reserve adds DI/O, LAN or USB expansion.
Sensors, wireless and expansion
LiDAR and 3D cameras connect to the Ethernet ports, GMSL cameras to the FAKRA inputs, USB3 cameras to the USB 3.2 ports. AFE-R750 has M.2 E key 2230 (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth), M.2 B key 3042/3052 (5G/LTE, SIM) and M.2 M key 2280 NVMe (PCIe x4) slots; MIC-732-AO has Mini PCIe, M.2 3052 B key, M.2 2230 E key, two nano SIMs and M.2 2280 NVMe (PCIe x4) slots plus an iDoor bracket reserve. Advantech offers Wi-Fi 6, 4G LTE and 5G modules, antenna and cable sets, SQFlash NVMe SSDs (MIC-732-AO), GMSL boards/brackets and a fan kit (for AFE-R750 AGX Orin 64 GB) for both products; the part numbers are on the model pages.
Where it is used
Warehouse and factory AMR / AGV transport, autonomous forklifts and tugger robots, service and cleaning robots, agricultural and construction-site robots, outdoor patrol and delivery robots, mobile platforms that need multi-camera perception. FST delivers the robot controller together with the camera / LiDAR / IMU layer, CAN and industrial Ethernet integration, ROS 2 commissioning and model deployment services as one solution.
