HIKROBOT MV-CH120-20GC — Area Scan Cameras

The MV-CH120-20GC is the color GigE version of the OnSemi XGS12000-based 12 MP CH camera; its 1″ global shutter CMOS sensor with 3.2 μm pixels produces 4096 × 3072 frames in Bayer RG 8 at 9.6 fps. White balance, CCM, Super Palette and Super Bayer can be applied on the camera, so YUV422 and RGB 8 / BGR 8 outputs are available directly. With 40 dB SNR and 66.4 dB dynamic range, exposure is adjustable from 52 μs up to 10 s.
The camera is powered over PoE or from a 9–24 VDC source, drawing a typical 2.7 W at 12 VDC, and the GigE link can run up to 100 meters without a relay while remaining compatible with Fast Ethernet. Gain and exposure are set automatically or manually, LUT and Gamma manually; the P7 connector provides Line 0 (opto-isolated input), Line 1 (opto-isolated output) and Line 2 (bi-directional). The 29 × 29 × 42 mm, roughly 100 g IP40 body can be stored from –30 °C to 80 °C and follows GigE Vision 2.0 / GenICam.

Where it is used
Offering color 12 MP frames at 9.6 fps, this model is intended for wide-area color inspection of stationary or slowly advancing products: color and pattern matching on furniture and wood panel surfaces, registration and color checks on large printed sheets, and ripeness or defect grading in fruit and vegetable packing. PoE and the 100 m reach simplify cabling in large facilities such as agricultural or warehouse sites. On-camera color correction reduces the preprocessing load on the host PC.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
