HIKROBOT MV-CS004-10UM V5 — Area Scan Cameras

The MV-CS004-10UM V5 is the V5 release of the Sony IMX287-based 0.4 MP monochrome USB3.0 camera in the small-resolution USB branch of the CS series. It delivers 525.5 fps at 720 × 540 in Mono 8, with 42.7 dB SNR and 73.4 dB dynamic range preserving the global-shutter sensor’s character. The notable difference on the datasheet is the power budget: typical consumption drops to 1.7 W at 5 VDC, and the storage temperature ceiling rises to 80 °C.
The camera takes both data and power over USB3.0 (USB2.0 backward compatible); its 1.7 W draw eases the power margin in multi-camera setups running on bus power, and 9–24 VDC external supply via the P7 connector remains available. Line 0 (opto-isolated input) and Line 1 (opto-isolated output) wire directly to a PLC or light controller, while Line 2 serves as a flexible non-isolated bi-directional line. The 29 × 29 × 30 mm body mounts from four sides, and USB3.0 Vision / GenICam compliance lets the same software interfaces as the earlier release be used.

Where it is used
Its combination of low power draw and high frame rate suits multi-camera test cells fed from a single USB hub and portable inspection fixtures. Tracking small, fast-moving parts in feeding, placement and vibratory-bowl systems is a typical use. The 80 °C storage rating adds margin for projects where cameras are shipped and stocked in hot climates.
