TELEMECANIQUE XX518A3PAM12 — Diffuse Ultrasonic Sensors

Telemecanique XX518A3PAM12 is a diffuse ultrasonic sensor of the XX5 series in the XX range, with a plastic M18 body. Its nominal sensing distance is 0.5 m, adjustable with a remote teach pushbutton; the sensing range is 0.051–0.508 m and the blind zone 0–51 mm. Working at a 300 kHz transmission frequency with a 6° beam angle, it offers 1.27 % repeat accuracy and a maximum differential travel of 2.5 mm. It detects a Ø2.5 mm cylinder at 0.15 m and tolerates a ±7° deviation of the object from 90°.

The 3-wire PNP 1 NO output switches up to 100 mA with overload and short-circuit protection; maximum voltage drop is 1 V and switching frequency up to 40 Hz. The 12–24 V DC rated supply (10–28 V DC limits) is reverse-polarity protected and current consumption is 40 mA. Connection is by an M12 4-pin male connector; the white wire is the teach input. The sensor has a Valox enclosure, epoxy front face, M18 x 1 thread, 43 mm threaded length and 0.033 kg weight; protection is IP67 and operating temperature -20 – +65 °C.
