The MV-CU120-10UC is the model that brings 12 MP color to 29.2 fps on the USB3.0 side of the cost-effective CU family. Its Sony® IMX226 rolling-shutter sensor with 1.85 μm pixels outputs 4024 × 3036 in Bayer RG 8/10/10Packed/12/12Packed; 40.3 dB SNR, 69.4 dB dynamic range and 0–24 dB adjustable gain preserve color fidelity while leaving room for weak lighting. Exposure is selectable between 20 μs and 0.5 seconds, enough to find the right frame on both glossy and dim objects as long as the scene is static.
The USB3.0 link carries the 12 MP color data straight to the host over the cable and is USB2.0 compatible; power comes from the USB3.0 port (typical 2.0 W at 5 VDC) or from an external 9–24 VDC source. Trigger and status signals connect through the 6-pin P7 connector’s opto-isolated Line 0 (input), Line 1 (output) and the non-isolated bi-directional Line 2. The 29 × 29 × 30 mm, roughly 76 g, IP40 body, along with USB3 Vision and GenICam compliance, a customizable ROI and horizontal/vertical image flipping, eases integration into compact optical assemblies.

Where it is used
High-resolution color at 29.2 fps fits bench-top or in-cell stations such as pharmaceutical blister and tablet color checks, cosmetic packaging print verification and color-coded component detection in electronics assembly. With the rolling shutter in mind, images should be taken while the part is clamped or waiting at an indexed position; the high frame rate is better spent on sequential shots under multiple lighting angles or rapid focus sweeps. Static, color-critical work such as document, artwork and textile digitization also benefits from the 12-bit Bayer output.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
