In the cost-effective CU series, the MV-CU013-80UC is the model that combines color imaging with the highest frame rate: a 1/2.7″ SS global-shutter CMOS delivers 240.4 fps at 1280 × 1024 in Bayer BG 8, with 10, 10Packed, 12 and 12Packed depths selectable. The 4.0 μm × 4.0 μm pixel provides 38.7 dB SNR and 50.6 dB dynamic range, gain spans 0 to 20 dB and exposure runs from 30 μs to 1 s. With its USB3.0 interface and a body of only 29 mm × 29 mm × 30 mm at approx. 77 g, it stays remarkably small for this speed class.
The USB3.0 interface (USB2.0 compatible) can carry both the 240.4 fps color stream and the power: the camera runs from USB3.0 at a typical 1.7 W at 5 VDC, or 9–24 VDC can be supplied through the 6-pin P7 connector if preferred. The P7 connector also offers an opto-isolated input (Line 0), an opto-isolated output (Line 1) and a bi-directional non-isolated I/O (Line 2), with hardware trigger, software trigger and free-run modes available. The compact C-mount body is rated IP40 (with proper lens and wiring), gain/exposure are set automatically or manually and LUT and Gamma manually, and USB3 Vision and GenICam compliance lets it work directly with software built on those standards.

Where it is used
Places where color and speed are needed at the same time are this model’s ground: verifying cap and label color on high-speed bottling lines, counting and rejecting colored tablets or capsules, classifying fast-flowing small parts (buttons, beads, granules) by color, following the state of colored LED indicators in functional tests. The compact USB camera embeds easily in desktop test equipment and small sorting stations close to the PC, and the 1280 × 1024 color frame is enough to evaluate color areas and coarse print layout at this rate.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
