The MV-CU120-10GC is the 12 MP color GigE model of the cost-effective CU family, offered with PoE according to its product name. Its Bayer RG-patterned Sony® IMX226 rolling-shutter sensor gathers 4024 × 3036 pixels in a 1/1.7″ format; at 9.7 fps in Bayer RG 8, the 40.5 dB SNR and 70.5 dB dynamic range give a solid base for work where color separation matters. What distinguishes it from its monochrome sibling is the Bayer RG 8/10/10Packed/12/12Packed pixel formats, offering color depth up to 12 bits.
When color data is carried in packed formats up to 12 bits, bandwidth matters; the Gigabit Ethernet link moves it up to 100 meters without a repeater and stays backward compatible with Fast Ethernet. Triggering can be hardware, software or free-run; the opto-isolated input (Line 0) and output (Line 1) on the P7 connector, plus the bi-directional Line 2, cover light control and PLC handshaking. Under 9–24 VDC or optional PoE supply the typical draw is 1.82 W at 12 VDC; the C-mount body measures 29 × 29 × 42 mm at about 100 g and is GigE Vision V2.0 and GenICam compliant.

Where it is used
Twelve-megapixel color resolution is well matched to verifying multi-color print and labels, checking color codes on cables and connectors, and inspecting fill level and cap color on food and pharmaceutical packaging. Given the rolling shutter and 9.7 fps, prefer stations that image while the product is stationary in front of the camera, or lines that move slowly. Document and textile pattern checks that need a high-resolution color reference image also fall within this model’s remit.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
