HIKROBOT MV-CU050-90UM — Area Scan Cameras

The MV-CU050-90UM pairs the GMAX2505 global-shutter sensor with a USB3.0 interface in a 5 MP monochrome CU-series camera. The 1/2″ sensor with 2.5 μm pixels delivers 2600 × 2160 and climbs to 59.8 fps in Mono 8, close to three times the 21 fps of the GigE version on the same sensor. A 37 dB SNR, 63.9 dB dynamic range and exposure down to 3 μs let it freeze fast motion cleanly.
The camera takes data and power over USB3.0 (typically 2.1 W at 5 VDC), is compatible with USB2.0 ports and also accepts a 9 VDC to 24 VDC external supply when required. The 6-pin P7 connector holds an opto-isolated input (Line 0), an opto-isolated output (Line 1) and a bi-directional non-isolated line (Line 2), through which hardware triggering and strobe synchronization are set up at high frame rates. The 29 mm × 29 mm × 35.6 mm body weighs about 94 g, has IP30 protection and a C-mount; USB3 Vision and GenICam compliance, together with custom ROI and horizontal/vertical image reversal, make it usable in standards-based software.

Where it is used
Global shutter at 59.8 fps is used in cells where fast-moving parts are checked by a PC within USB cable reach: part-orientation detection on pick-and-place feeders, result verification at high-speed screwdriving and assembly stations, and counting at the outlet of vibratory feeders. The 2600 × 2160 monochrome frame gives enough detail for edge-based measurement and code reading on small parts. Narrowing the ROI reduces image size and with it the processing load.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
