HIKROBOT MV-CU020-80GM V2 — Area Scan Cameras
2 MP, SC235, GigE, Mono, 53.5 fps

The CU series’ 2 MP monochrome GigE option, the MV-CU020-80GM V2, combines the 1600 × 1200 resolution of the SC235 global shutter CMOS sensor with 53.5 fps in Mono 8. A 0–24 dB gain range and an exposure span of 45 μs to 1 second leave wide adjustment room for adapting to different lighting conditions. The datasheet lists a weight of approximately 100 g; the remaining figures are identical to the standard 80GM model.
The camera follows the GigE Vision V2.0 protocol and the GenICam standard, so it communicates with standards-based third-party image processing software without extra driver work. Triggering and power go through the 6-pin P7 connector: Line 0 opto-isolated input, Line 1 opto-isolated output and Line 2 bi-directional non-isolated line, with 9–24 VDC supply or PoE as an option. User-defined ROI and horizontal/vertical reverse image output make it easier to obtain a correctly oriented image regardless of how the camera is mounted.

Key features
- Adopts low consumption design with stable performance.
- Supports auto or manual adjustment of gain, exposure time, and manual adjustment of LUT, Gamma correction, etc.
- Supports customized ROI and supports horizontal and vertical reverse image output.
- Adopts compact design to meet small spatial requirements.
- Compatible with GigE Vision V2.0 Protocol, GenICam Standard, and third-party software based on the protocol and standard.
Where it is used
Monochrome contrast checks on print and labels, fill-level detection on bottles and containers, and part-position finding for robot pick-and-place are tasks that line up with this model’s resolution and speed. LUT and Gamma adjustment can be applied on the camera to bring out small defects on low-contrast surfaces. The typical 1.8 W consumption keeps the power budget low in multi-camera installations.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
