HIKROBOT MV-CB120-10UC-B V4 — Area Scan Cameras

The MV-CB120-10UC-B V4 is the color, bare-board version of the CB Series USB3.0 family. It runs the same Sony IMX226 sensor in Bayer RG 8 format at up to 30 fps and 4032 × 3036 resolution; per HIKROBOT’s official features, its image interpolation algorithm gives better color correction. With no lens mount at all (Lens mount: None), this 32.5 × 32.5 × 1.6 mm, 10 g board is built to be integrated — optics and all — entirely into the customer’s own housing.
Power draw is slightly higher than the mono version (typ. 2 W @ 5 VDC); power and data still run over a single USB 3.0 line. Two bi-directional non-isolated I/O lines are available for triggering. The color sensor offers a wide range of pixel formats — Bayer RG, YUV422, RGB8/BGR8 — giving flexibility for different color-processing needs in the MVS client or third-party software; since the lens must be aligned directly onto the sensor, integration is inherently a custom design.

Where it is used
Color imaging makes this model suited to embedded applications where color discrimination matters: color/print inspection on packaging and labels, material sorting by color, or color imaging modules built into lab instruments. The bare-board form factor is preferred for compact OEM designs where the camera cannot dictate the product’s shape.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
