The MV-SC6050M-12M-XBN is a 5MP monochrome smart camera (Vision Sensor) from HIKROBOT’s SC6000 family. It combines a built-in RGBW (red/green/blue/white) light source with a 12 mm motorised M12 lens in a single housing, integrating illumination and optics together. The VisionMaster (VM) machine vision platform with its embedded deep learning module lets complex algorithms run directly on the camera itself.

With 8 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage, the camera can process and log images on-board without an external PC, and it supports a broad set of industrial protocols including TCP, UDP, MODBUS, RS-232, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Fins, MC and FTP. A 17-pin M12 connector provides opto-isolated inputs/outputs, an RS-232 line and a light-source output, while a VGA output and USB host port allow on-site monitoring and peripheral connections.

Where it is used

The 12 mm focal length suits stations where the camera is mounted relatively close to the target, such as component verification on electronic boards or presence/position checks on small-parts assembly lines. Because the RGBW source can switch colour in software, a single camera can trial multiple illumination schemes to boost contrast across different surfaces and materials. The monochrome sensor is preferred for edge- and texture-based measurement, positioning, and defect-inspection tasks.
