The MV-SC5050XC-12L-WBN is a color SC5000X smart camera delivering 2432 × 2048 resolution at up to 60 frames per second. What sets it apart is its 12 mm liquid lens: an electronically adjustable focus element with no moving parts, which reduces the need for manual refocusing on lines where objects arrive at varying heights or distances. It runs AI-based deep learning algorithms on board for object recognition, defect detection and OCR.

It integrates the VisionMaster (VM) vision platform natively and supports over 140 built-in algorithms, moving application development away from dependence on an external PC. Rich I/O interfaces with multiple input/output signals and support for multiple communication protocols let it fit into a variety of PLC and line-control architectures, while status indicators simplify troubleshooting and maintenance. IP67 protection shields the unit from dust and moisture.

Where it is used

Its color sensing combined with variable-focus optics is well suited to lines where color codes, labels or print quality must be inspected at differing working distances. Typical scenarios include colored packaging verification, color-coded cable and connector checks in electronics assembly, and OCR-based serial number reading. The liquid lens allows a fast changeover between product variants without mechanical refocusing.

Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
