HIKROBOT MV-SC2023XC-16M-WBN — Smart Cameras & Vision Sensors

The HIKROBOT MV-SC2023XC-16M-WBN is a 2.4 MP colour model in the SC2000X series of smart cameras (vision sensors). Its 1/3.52″ optical format, global shutter CMOS sensor with a 2.2 µm × 2.2 µm pixel size delivers 1920 × 1280 resolution images at up to 75 fps. Gain is adjustable from 0 dB to 48 dB and exposure time from 36 µs to 100 ms, with Mono 8 and RGB 8 pixel formats supported. The colour imaging capability makes the device suitable for applications that require colour-based discrimination and inspection. With program import/export support, the device can store up to 16 programs and 40 modules.

On the vision-tool side, the camera offers counting functions (blob, edge, contour, pattern and colour counting), presence/absence checks (circle, line, blob, edge, pattern and contour presence, plus anomaly detection) and positioning functions such as position correction, calibration transform and alignment. For communication it supports RS-232, TCP, UDP, FTP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC/SLMP, FINS and Keyence KV protocols over a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet data interface. Power and I/O are provided through a 17-pin M12 connector: 2 isolated inputs (Line 0/1), 2 isolated outputs (Line 2/3) and 1 RS-232 line; triggering via the side button is also supported. Power supply is 24 VDC, drawing an average of 5 W and a maximum of 12 W with the built-in illumination on. The M12-mount lens provides mechanical (motorised) focus at a 16 mm focal length; besides the white light source, optional red, blue, infrared, ultraviolet or red-blue dual-colour versions are available, along with a 2-green-LED aiming light. The flat-angle body measures 72.7 × 31.5 × 41 mm and the right-angle body 51.5 × 31.5 × 61 mm, with a weight of 118 g; protection class is IP65, operating temperature 0 °C to 50 °C, and certifications are CE and KC. The unit meets IEC 60068-2-6:2007 vibration and IEC 60068-2-27:2008 shock test requirements.

Where it is used

The motorised focus of the SC2000X allows quick lens adjustment across different working distances without redeployment; the 16 mm focal length suits stations that need a longer working distance and a narrower field of view for detailed inspection. The 1920 × 1280 resolution combined with colour imaging supports detailed inspection in applications that need colour-based discrimination, label/print verification or positioning. IP65 protection and IEC 60068 vibration/shock resistance let the unit operate reliably in vibrating, dusty or humid environments, while its compact body suits installations with limited mounting space.
