Omron D4NS is a safety-door switch in a plastic housing, operated by a dedicated operation key that is sold separately. Besides two-contact models with 1NC/1NO and 2NC contacts, the series includes three-contact models with 2NC/1NO and 3NC contacts and MBB versions. The conduit outlet can be Pg13.5, G1/2, M20 or 1/2-14NPT, and M12-connector models save wiring labour and simplify replacement. The contacts can be used for both standard loads and microloads; the manufacturer’s web page mentions gold-clad contacts.
According to the datasheet, D4NS is a Type 2 interlocking device to EN ISO 14119 with low level coding, and its NC contacts have a direct opening mechanism certified by TÜV SÜD. The switch box is rated IP67 to EN60947-5-1. For the standard type, mechanical durability is 1,000,000 operations min. and electrical durability is 500,000 operations min. at 3 A resistive load, 250 VAC. Direct opening force is 60 N min. and direct opening travel 10 mm min. The operating temperature range is -30 to 70 °C, and the head can be mounted in four directions.
