Coded-magnetic and RFID safety switches that work with no mechanical contact between the door actuator and the switch.
A non-contact safety switch works without mechanical contact between the actuator on the door and the switch (coded-magnetic or RFID); there is no wear, alignment tolerance is wide and it suits washdown and hygienic areas. This card covers Panasonic’s SG-P series non-contact door switch with a highly visible LED; Omron’s D40A with electronic detection, the D40Z with integrated monitoring and self-diagnostics, the high-coded D41D and the D40ML combining RFID with magnetic locking; and Telemecanique’s coded-magnetic XCSDMC/XCSDMP/XCSDMR switches, and the SIL 3 / PLe / Category 4, IP69K Preventa XCSR RFID safety switch. Coding level (tamper protection), locking requirement and ambient conditions are chosen to match the application.
Panasonic SG-P — non-contact safety door switch models (4)
Panasonic’s SG-P series is an RFID-based non-contact safety door switch (PLe, SIL3, ISO 14119): low-coded (SG-P10xx) and high-coded (SG-P20xx) versions, compact (x010) and high-visibility LED (x020) housings. The main unit has -M-P (PNP) or -M-N (NPN) OSSD outputs, -S sub units connect in series; maintenance actuators SG-PK-M1/M2.
