The Omron D41D is an RFID-based non-contact safety door switch in which the switch and a high-coded actuator are paired by a teaching procedure; more than 1,000 code variations minimise the risk of defeating. It is Type 4, high-coded according to EN ISO 14119 and suitable for ISO 13849-1 PL e / Category 4 and SIL 3 applications. Teaching takes about 30 seconds. On the D41D-1 the pairing is permanent; on the D41D-2 a new actuator can be taught an unlimited number of times, after which the safety outputs stay disabled for 10 minutes.
The switch has a PBT housing, is fixed with 4 × M4 screws and is rated IP65 and IP67. The typical operating distance from the front is 12 mm and the assured switch-off distance is 18 mm; the actuator can approach from the front or from the side. Tri-color LEDs show 11 different status patterns. The two OSSD safety outputs and the auxiliary output are PNP type and short-circuit proof. Switches can be series-connected without reducing the performance level, and all of them can be paired at once. Three actuators are available: standard D41D-A1, flat D41D-A2 and miniature D41D-A3; actuators are ordered separately.
