The Panasonic SG-P is a non-contact safety door switch that uses weak radio waves (125 kHz transponder) as its detection principle. It meets Category 4, PL e to ISO 13849-1:2015 and SIL 3 to IEC 61508 and IEC 62061, and conforms to IEC 60947-5-3 and ISO 14119. Two coding levels are offered: high-code models (SG-P20□) correspond to ISO 14119 high level coded actuators and prevent intentional deactivation; low-code models (SG-P10□) require no pairing. The body is available as compact type (-10) or visible type (-20), whose actuator lets the indicator light pass through.

The standard unit (-M-P PNP or -M-N NPN) provides 2 OSSD outputs, max. 100 mA; sub units (-S) cascade from the standard unit, allowing up to 30 units in series without a dedicated controller. Response time for a single unit is 100 ms or less ON→OFF; with multiple units 5 ms is added per additional unit. The indicator of the switch on an open door lights red while all other switches flash green. On high-code models pairing takes 3 seconds by bringing the body close to the actuator and switching on power. SG-PK-M1 and SG-PK-M2 maintenance actuators are available separately.

Key features

  • Large, bright indicators: the switch on the open door lights red, all others flash green
  • On the visible type the indicator light passes through the actuator
  • Standard / sub unit system for series connection of up to 30 units without a controller
  • No manual pairing on high-code models; pairing completes in 3 seconds at power-on
  • ISO 14119 high level coded actuator helps prevent intentional deactivation
  • Maintenance mode with SG-PK-M1 / SG-PK-M2 maintenance actuators; indicator lights yellow
