HIKROBOT MV-CA050-20GM — Area Scan Cameras
5 MP, PYTHON5000, GigE, Mono, 22 fps

The MV-CA050-20GM is a GigE area-scan camera built around a 1″ PYTHON5000 CMOS global-shutter sensor, producing 5 MP mono images at 2592×2048. Compared with the MV-CA050-20UM, which runs the same PYTHON5000 sensor over USB3.0, this GigE model operates at a more moderate 22 fps and complies with GigE Vision V1.2. HIKROBOT lists this model in its catalog under ‘Delisting Preparation’ status.
The Gigabit Ethernet interface allows cable runs of up to 100 m without a relay and is backward-compatible with Fast Ethernet; the camera can be powered via 12 VDC or PoE. A 6-pin Hirose connector supplies 1 opto-isolated input, 1 opto-isolated output and 1 bi-directional non-isolated I/O line, with hardware and software triggering supported and up to 128 MB of local memory available for burst data. Its C-mount and 29×29×42 mm housing work with third-party software built on the GigE Vision V1.2 protocol and GenICam standard.

Where it is used
The PYTHON5000 sensor’s comparatively large 4.8 μm pixels give a usable signal level even under lower light, making this model suitable for general-purpose area-scan tasks on production lines. The GigE interface and its 100 m cable reach are useful in larger facility layouts where the camera sits far from the control cabinet. Its moderate frame rate fits continuous-line measurement and position-verification tasks that do not demand very high speed.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
