The MV-CA050-10GM is a GigE area-scan camera built around a 2/3″ Sony® IMX264 CMOS global-shutter sensor, producing 5 MP mono images at 2448×2048. Within the CA series’ 5 MP GigE lineup, it leads on image-quality figures, with 40.2 dB SNR and 72 dB dynamic range, and it adds an UltraShort exposure mode (1 to 14 μs) for scenes that need very brief exposure. In HIKROBOT’s catalog this model carries ‘Delisting Preparation’ status.
The Gigabit Ethernet interface, backward-compatible with Fast Ethernet, allows cable runs of up to 100 m without a relay, and the camera can be powered via 12 VDC or over PoE. A 6-pin Hirose connector provides 1 opto-isolated input, 1 opto-isolated output and 1 bi-directional non-isolated I/O line, with hardware and software triggering supported, plus up to 128 MB of local memory for burst transmission and retransmission. Its C-mount, 29×29×42 mm housing, and compliance with GigE Vision V2.0/GenICam let it plug directly into existing GigE-based vision software, including the MVS client.

Where it is used
Its wide dynamic range and high SNR are useful in quality-control tasks on bright or reflective metal surfaces, or scenes with strong contrast differences. The UltraShort exposure mode helps preserve image sharpness on fast-moving targets or scenes with intense light sources. Single-cable power and data delivery over PoE simplifies wiring on GigE-based lines where several cameras are distributed along a production line.
Suitability depends on working distance, field of view, target characteristics and positioning. Selection is assessed on a per-project basis.
